Event Code of Conduct

TCG Event Code of Conduct

1. Respect & Community

This event is open to players of all experience levels. Everyone is expected to:

  • Treat others with respect and courtesy
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment
  • Avoid harassment, discrimination, or bullying of any kind

Unsporting or hostile behaviour will not be tolerated.

2. Casual vs Competitive Play

We support both play styles:

Casual Play

  • Focus on fun, learning, and social interaction
  • Flexible with take-backs and rule reminders (within reason)
  • Players should agree on expectations before starting

Competitive Play

  • Strict adherence to official rules and tournament procedures
  • No take-backs once actions are confirmed
  • Players are responsible for knowing their cards and interactions

Players must clearly communicate whether a match is casual or competitive before it begins.

3. Fair Play & Integrity

All players must:

  • Use legal decks and authentic cards
  • Play honestly and accurately represent game states
  • Not cheat, manipulate outcomes, or intentionally mislead opponents

If a mistake happens, call a judge or organizer rather than arguing.

4. Judge & Organizer Authority

  • Event staff have final authority on rulings and disputes
  • Players must follow instructions promptly and respectfully
  • Disputes should be handled calmly, do not escalate

5. Communication & Conduct

  • Clearly announce game actions (attacks, triggers, effects, etc.)
  • Use appropriate language. No slurs, threats, or excessive profanity
  • Spectators must remain silent during matches unless asked

6. Pace of Play

  • Play at a reasonable and consistent speed
  • Deliberate stalling or slow play is not allowed
  • Be mindful of time limits in competitive rounds
